Magnesium sulphate (MgSO4) contains 9.86% magnesium (Mg) It can be used in planted aquariums to provide magnesium which is a macro nutrient and essential for plants.

It can be added directly to a planted aquarium, or it can be mixed with water, to make a stock solution. It can also be mixed with other nutrients to make a bespoke fertiliser, see Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Phosphate.
