Calcium Nitrate Ca(NO3)2

Calcium Nitrate contains 15.5% and 19% Calcium. It is highly soluble in water and is widely used as a component in high nitrate aquarium plant fertiliser.

Note: If making up a fertiliser solution, it is inadvisable to mix Calcium Nitrate with Phosphates. Make up two separate solutions and add them to the tank separately. In concentrated solutions Calcium Nitrate will react with the Phosphate and cause it to precipitate out. This is much less likely to happen if the two solutions are added to the main tank individually.
